The fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 for 96 Lok Sabha constituencies across 10 states and one union territory witnessed a voter turnout of an approximate 24.87 percent till 11 am on Monday. The polling process is currently ongoing nationwide.

Polling is underway for all 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, 25 seats in Andhra Pradesh, 13 in Uttar Pradesh, five in Bihar, four in Jharkhand, eight in Madhya Pradesh, 11 in Maharashtra, four in Odisha, eight in West Bengal and one in Jammu and Kashmir.

Of the approximate polling percentage that stood at 24.87 percent, the highest voter turnout was recorded in West Bengal at 32.78 per cent, followed by Madhya Pradesh (32.38 per cent), Jharkhand (27.40 per cent), Uttar Pradesh (27.12 per cent), and Bihar (22.54 per cent). 

A total of 1,717 candidates are in the fray in this phase, of which include Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Union minister Giriraj Singh, TMC"s firebrand leader Mohua Moitra and AIMIM"s Asaduddin Owaisi, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, former cricketer Yusuf Pathan of TMC, Andhra Pradesh Congress president YS Sharmila among others. 

More than 19 lakh polling officials are on duty at 1.92 lakh polling stations for over 17.70 crore eligible voters in the fourth phase.
